I've been playing Research and Development, a Half-Life 2: Episode 2 mod, and so far, I'm enjoying it.

It takes a lot of split second actions and quick, smart thinking to get through this game. For a while you have nothing but your own two hands and maybe an antlion pheropod at the beginning. Include some invading angry Combine and the lack of an HEV suit, and you have quite an exhilarating game.

You play a doctor, who as far as I can tell, has been aiding in experiments on antlions. Later on he retrieves one weapon: the gravity gun. That's about it. It's all about blocking enemy fire, tossing grenades back from whence they came, and generally making sure you don't die, because one wrong move could mean death.

Though in addition to dealing with enemies, you also have to solve puzzles. There are many puzzles ranging from simple to complex. Heck, you walk right into a puzzle at nearly the beginning. It's like a combination of Half-Life 2 minus all the guns except one, and a little added Portal in there minus the portals.
